Commerce
Commerce turns a product catalog into a sellable shop: cart, checkout, order management, inventory, and the order desk. It’s the one domain with a declared hard dependency — it requires Catalog, since orders, stock and reservations all reference catalog products and variants.
What it owns
Section titled “What it owns”- Three stock modes — one-of-one unique pieces, limited runs, and continuously replenished depth — each with matching storefront behaviour.
- Oversell-proof inventory — atomic reservations with a TTL, committed on payment, released automatically on expiry. The hold window is a store setting (see Checkout hold).
- Orders as immutable snapshots — names, SKUs and prices are frozen at purchase; later catalog edits never rewrite order history.
- Checkout orchestration — server-side pricing (discounts, delivery fees, optional tax), stock held through payment, then COD confirmation or a gateway redirect from one endpoint.
- Payments and couriers — see Packages → Provider packages for how the payment and courier adapters plug in, and Payment providers / Courier providers to configure them.
- COD guardrails and fraud review — a maximum COD value and a phone-risk threshold hold a suspicious order automatically before a courier is booked. See COD & fraud review.
- Discounts and merchandising — percent/fixed codes with usage limits and scheduling, plus collections, complete-the-look sets, and one-time-offer rules.
- Returns, reconciliation and reports — a returns queue, COD payout reconciliation against courier remittance, and sales/inventory/customer reports.
Sell, Stock, Protect and Grow in the staff admin — see Orders & fulfillment, Inventory, Returns, COD reconciliation and Reports.
